Cave

This cave is in the middle of town so we drive past it a lot.  Tylinn and Kaylee have been bugging me for a long time to stop there and go in the cave.  On the way through town to Chevlon Crossing they saw it and asked if we could stop on our way back.  I just decided we would hike up to it and have their dream come true!!

Chevlon Crossing

Monday for Spring Break we went on a little outing to Chevlon Crossing.  There was a lot more water in it then we thought. We took snacks and skipped rocks and hiked.

Tylinn and Kaylee wanted to take their pants off and play in the water so they did.  I told Dustin and Rhett I would give them 3 bucks if they would get down to their undies and go under.  Surprisingly they did.  They would be SO mad if they knew I put this on here.  I told them boxers aren't any different then a swimming suit.  Hopefully someday they will laugh about it and not be mad at me!! I told them nobody reads my blog anyway so if you happen to read this PLEASE don't say anything to them about it.  I have to just make it long enough to get it printed!  It's too cute not to put in!
Tylinn and Kaylee only got brave enough to get waist high - but with the water being snow run off I don't blame them.
We obviously need to do more things like this as a family because the kids said on the way home how much fun it was.  Hopefully with warmer weather coming we can have more adventures.  It is just so hard when the weather is not good.

A Good Day

Last Saturday was just a good day.  It has been along time since we have had a Saturday with nothing going on and that everybody was home.  All the kids were doing good willing to help out.
Kaylee putting on makeup - very important detail for the day
 Bridget and Rhett folding clothes.
Even had sometime to get a game of Old Maid in.
Bruce had Monty Hancock's tractor that he was working on our sad road.

Dustin and Tylinn were pals outside getting the outside chores finished.

And Dustin got the garden rototilled.
Nothing super great happened - it was just a good day!

Awards

Last week Mountain Meadows had an awards assembly.  Kaylee somehow got a Perfect Attendence award - not sure how she didn't miss school.  The other kids went skiing so they didn't get perfect attendence.
And Tylinn got the Citizenship Award.
Good job Tylinn and Kaylee.  Keep up the great work!

Today after all the excitement at chruch we had Bruce's parents and my parents, Scott and family and Holli and kids were here so we had dinner together after church.  The girls had a great idea of painting toenails.  So we have Dustin, Rhett and Jordan's toenails!  Later the boys painted the girls nails.  They had fun!

Change

Well today was a day of change at church for both of us.  I was released as the Primary President after 4.5 years and called as the Personal Progress Leader in YW.
Bruce was released as the Assistant Ward Clerk and called to the 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric.

I am way excited for my new calling but I will miss the kids. My kids are really sad! I have been in Primary with most of them their whole time in Primary but Bridget is way excited and so am I.
As for Bruce.....well you can only imagine his excitement!  This has been an interesting week around our house with me on cloud 9 thinking of all the responsibilities I will no longer have and Bruce wondering how he is going to do it.  Change in the church is a good thing!  I know Bruce will do a great job!

This picture is not very good but I guess it's how we looked this morning :)  I actually got my dental implant that I needed on Thursday and had quite a bit of swelling going on. I am starting to get a black eye from all of it but am excited the worst of the implant is over! Just 6 months of healing then I get the real thing and the rest is history!

Snow

This past weekend it snowed again.  I am so OK with snow in Dec and Jan and even Feb but when March comes I am pretty much done!  One good thing about March snows is it is warmer so it usually doesn't stay around too long.  This snow was a super super wet heavy snow.

I was subbing in Tylinn's class on Friday and they sent all the kids home at 11:45 due to the snow.  It made for a crazy hour or so getting all the parents called and the kids gone but I wasn't complaining about getting to go home early.  Tylinn build this cute little snowman.
Kaylee built this cute little snowman.
Bridget commented Friday when it was snowing how she wore shorts to school on Thursday and it wasn't even cold and the next day it snows so much they have to send kids home early from school.  Crazy!

Camping

Rhett needed a camp out with cooking to advance to the next level of scouts so after Kaylee's birthday party we had a camp out at our house.  These neighborhood boys got their tent pitched and a fire going and cooked their tinfoil dinners.
Noah, Jordan, Rhett, Gabe and Dustin
They did cheat just a little bit - notice the extension cord going into the tent? Well yeah they had a heater going all night in their tent.
Eating breakfast the next morning.  The boys cooked up some breakfast burritos everybody enjoyed.
Eating their burritos and hot chocolate.
They had fun.  I am thankful we live where the boys can step about 10 feet out the back door and have a spot to camp in the forrest and for a great neighborhood with great kids!

My baby is 7!

Saturday March 2 was Kaylee's 7th birthday.  She wanted to have a friend party so Friday after school a bunch of little girls rode the bus home with her.  I ended up having to substitute that day so it made for a very crazy day walking in the door 15 minutes before these girls.  Thank heaves I had some great helpers.
 Hayden
 Heidi
 Spenny
 Heidi and Kaylee
 Seneca and Marissa
 My 2 helpers.
We played pin the apple on the pig.
 Had cupcakes...
 and opened presents.
Kaylee finally got the Baby Alive she has wanted for so long. (This picture was actually taken Saturday.  She opened presents from the family the day of her birthday)
Played carry the egg on the spoon in your mouth.
That night we took her to Aliberto's for some tacos.  That was her birthday dinner request then a dilly bar from DQ!

Saturday we had our Ward Temple day so we took the kids to Grandma's and Grandpa's house.  We took her cake and had cake and icecream cones there after we got finished.  Bridget made her cake - don't know what I would do without this girl!  Jordan went out to G & G's to get in on the excitement!
Kaylee is such a fun little girl.  We have to quit calling her little because when Bridget was 7 she was such a 'big girl'.  I guess with her being my baby I can call her little forever!  She is a joy to have in our family.  Wish I had the imagination she has and to be able to tune out of life and play like she does!  We love you Kaylee!

Science Fair

The time of year for Science Projects is not my favorite at all! But Bridget and Dustin managed to get their done again this year.  Bridget did hers on Wind Turbines and Dustin did his on Silly Putty.

Bridget ended up getting 1st place at the school science fair.  Dustin just got an A - which is way OK with us.
Bridget had so much fun at the State Science Fair she had high hopes of getting 1st at district.  Well she found out yesterday she didn't even place.  So we are officially finished with Science Projects till next year.  We will take the 2 A's and be happy!
