Happy St. Patty's Day

Here are the kids ready for school on St. Patty's Day.  They are all sporting their green mustache.  That night we had our corned beef, cabbage and potatoes for dinner.

A few weekends ago Lynn showed up for a visit for the weekend.  He is a truck driver so we never know when he might be rolling into town.  It was good to see him and fun to have him stay with us.  Bruce even got a little work out of him!!

These 4 boys are so dang cute.  This year they have all clung together and they call themselves the Four Amigos.  They have lots of fun together.  Jarom, Rhett, Porter and Riley.  Rhett had them over the other night.

Kaylee's New Room!

With finishing our house we still only have 3 bedrooms but have the upstairs for some later if we want them.  So there is mine and Bruce's, the boys have the kids old room and the girls moved into our old room.  The boys kept the double bunkbed but unstacked it and the little girls have the boys old twin bunkbeds.  Well this leaves Bridget with out a bed right now.  Right when we got our carpet Kaylee started asking if she could sleep in the little room under the stairs.  There is another little pop out where we are going to put our computer desk so it is a little bigger then just under the stairs.  We let her sleep there 1 night and she loved it.  Tylinn was sleeping in the top bunk and Bridget on the bottom.  Tylinn has slept with Kaylee a few times and decided she likes that little room on the floor better then her bed so Kaylee has adopted this room as her own and shares it with Tylinn when Tylinn wants to sleep in there with her.  She is going to be a sad girl when we get a bed for Bridget (that is why we aren't in too big of a hurry) and move the computer in her room and she is booted to a bed.  Here she is all snuggled in her bed for the night.  This picture doesn't really show how small it is......if she grows a few inches she won't fit in there any longer.  Funny girl!

The night after Kaylee's day the Elders stopped by to tell Kaylee Happy Birthday.  Well it was Monday night so they stayed for FHE.  We ended up jump roping with them.  We had tons of fun.  We have enjoyed Elder Cornbridge and Elder Bailey in our home.

Kaylee is 8!

Our baby turned 8 on March 2!  It is very hard to believe that she is really that old and also that we don't have any kids younger then 8!  We took some pictures before hand of her in her new baptism dress so we had them but so we had one for the front of her baptism program.  We took these just outside our house.

March 2nd was a special day besides just that Kaylee would be 8.  It was the day of the Gilbert Temple Dedication.  You have to be 8 to attend the dedication so we wanted Kaylee baptized before so she could go to it.  We first talked to President Whipple and Bishop Nelson and Pres. Whipple told us if we did it in the church we had to be out of there by 7:00 am so the people could start coming for the dedication.  That means the baptism would have to be at 6:00.  That is really early especially for family coming out of town.  We were planning on just doing it in our garage.  Well a week before her baptism was our ward conference.  The Stake Presidency was in Bishopric meeting and Pres. Whipple told Bruce to tell Pres. Farr what we were planning on doing.  Well Pres. Farr wasn't too thrilled with it.  He told us to do it at the church but we could be in there until 8:00.  So we had her baptism at 7:00 that morning.  We had lots of family there - Rex, Will, Reed, Holli, Lonnie and all their families and the grandma's and grandpa's plus lots of friends and neighbors.

Bruce went to the church at 5:00 that morning to get the font filled up.  He said the font was really really gross - hair all over and dirty so he spent the first 20 minutes getting the font clean enough to use.  He tuned the water on and got it ready to go.  Went home to change.  We got to the church for the baptism and checked the font and all was good.  We had a very short talk by Grandma Flake (we wanted the whole thing to be short and sweet so we would have plenty of time to get little ones home and be ready for dedication).  Bruce opened the door for the baptism and there was only about 18 inches of water in it.  A bunch had drained!  There was nothing to do about it then so they went into the water.  Kaylee had on a cute little dress from the church to get baptized in - same one Tylinn used.  The first time Bruce tried to dunk her she didn't want her head to go under because of all the ear problems she has had she isn't used to getting water in her ears.  I had talked to her before this about it because I had a feeling it might be an issue.  Well she got her courage up and he dunked her all the way and the dress came up.  So Bruce tucked the dress between her legs.  Anyway to make a long story short he had to dunk her 5 times before it was done right.  There was such little water in it it was hard to keep the dress down and legs and everything.  So by time number 5 she was freezing and just done.  I am glad it didn't take any longer because she would probably been in tears.  She did really good and was so brave.  The water was only up to Bruce's calves so there wasn't much!

Grandma McLaws gave her a pretty white hankerchief to use for the dedication.

The Grandma McLaws gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and we finished up.  It was a nice quick baptism.  We took the little kids home, Paige and Tyra came to babysit those that couldn't go to the dedication.  The rest went in the chapel for the dedication.  We had to be in our seats 30 minutes early.  Before it even started Kaylee asked how much longer.  I could tell it was going to be a long meeting :) They did the Corner Stone Ceremony and the screen shut off.  We waited for about 30 minutes while they tried to get it back and running.  Pres. Whipple finally got up and said that the receiver just died and we couldn't finish the session.  They were sending another one from Taylor and it should be up and going for the 12:00 session.  So here we had all this family with us and we loaded up and headed home.  We drove up and Marinda's car was at our house.  I wondered what had happened to who.  Well come to find out Judy had gotten ahold of a permanent marker and wrote on the new floor (cement thank heavens) and on the banister Bruce had just put up the night before.  Marinda brought over a Magic Eraser and got it off everything before we got home.  So we ate dinner at 10:45 so those that wanted to leave and go somewhere else to watch it could or if some wanted to just go to Heber to the noon session could.  Bruce and Bridget ended up going back to watch it but the rest of us stayed there and cleaned up and enjoyed company.  It ended up being a great day with lots and lots of family but there were a few wrenches thrown in it.
Kaylee's school teacher - Lachelle Crandell
Neighbor friends - Abbie and Lily
Kaidyn just got baptized 2 days before Kaylee.  They are 2 cute cousins!
Kaylee's good friend Seneca came for the special day.

Kaylee with her birthday cake and all the cousins around enjoying it with her.
Kaylee got all her church stuff for her birthday but also got a new bike.  She has been wanting one for a long time so her and Tylinn can ride together.  She has just been getting Tylinn's hand-me-down bikes for the other bikes she has had so she was thrilled to get a brand new bike that was hers!  It was a great day!  We are so blessed to have Kaylee in our family.  She is so happy and hilarious or total opposite!  She will hopefully keep our house fun when she is the only kid left at home!

Dustin's Basketball Season

Dustin had a great basketball year.  They didn't win too many games but they had fun playing.  Samon was his coach this year.  Dustin played all of almost every game so he loved all the playing time.

Dustin with his 2 great buddies - John and Noah.  Yep Dustin's a shorty!

He had a great season but he thinks it went by way too fast - which it did.  I could have watched him a lot more.  We are thankful our kids get to be involved in the activities they are.  Life is good!

Tub Time

Well we are moved in (a while ago).  Right after we got moved in all the kids got a turn in my tub.  It has been nice.  Tylinn and Kaylee enjoying their time!
