Phoenix Temple Open House

October 20th our ward took the youth and a few others down to the Phoenix Temple Open House.  We are very grateful to have another beautiful temple in the state. We rode a travel bus from a water park parking lot to the temple because they don't have much parking at the temple.

Kids waiting for the rest of the group to come so we can head in.
Most of the group in front of the temple.

 Bridget and Megan
 The boys

Dustin and Noah - not too sure about these 2!

 Me with my honey!

Out side the temple they had a tent set up with this Christis and a few other things in it.

Bridget playing the piano in the tent.
Loading back on the bus to head back to the parking lot

We finished out our day eating lunch at Golden Corral.  It was great to spend a day with family and our ward.  It was exactly 1 year ago from this day that we were in our accident so it was a little nerving being down there again in Phoenix exactly 1 year later!  It was a great day!

Honor roll

Kaylee was on the honor roll and got perfect attendance for this last quarter!  Good job Kaylee!

Elder Johnson and Conference

Elder Johnson is leaving us tomorrow. We were very blessed to get him twice on his mission here in Heber!  Love this guy!  Glad he will be back!

Also another huge love - General Conference!!  This is what it looked like at our house that day!  Wish we had it next month too :)

Homecoming Week 2014

We had a fun Homecoming Week.  Monday was PJ at Capps and MM and Hobo Day at JH and HS!

I had to go to school before the kids because it was a late start day and I can't remember why they didn't take Dustin's picture.  It seems like because he had a game that day so he was just wearing his jersey.

Bridget and Barr - best of friends! After Bridget's vball game!
Tuesday - Crazy hair and movie day.
Bridget was Rapunzel off of Tangled, Rhett missionary off RM and Dustin Davey Crocket
Wednesday - Sports and Favorite Super Hero

Wednesday night was Mighty Man.  The Freshman got beat pretty good.  For the first time ever the Seniors beat the teachers.  Caleb Whipple pounded that ball over the net many times at those teachers.

Thursday - Hat day and dynamic duo
Rhett had a game so his dynamic duo was the rest of the football team - Bridget and Jordan were husband and wife and Dustin and Noah were missionary companions!
That night was Powder Puff.  This game is rough and brutal.  The Seniors and Freshman beat the Soph and Juniors.
 Best coaches ever!!

Friday the best day - PRIDE DAY!!

Summitt donated these shirts to the whole high school -

Bridget and Dustin were both in the runnings for Homecoming Royalty.  Neither of them ended up winning.  We were supposed to play Ashfork for the game Friday night and they called Thursday night and said they didn't have enough players that had good enough grades so they didn't have a team.  So I think in the first time in history we didn't have a homecoming football game.  It was kind of a bummer night!! We had volleyball games Monday and Tuesday night but not any on Friday.

Homecoming week was a blast!  I loved going to all the activities and watching my kids.  I was actually really sad this week when all the activities were over and there was only 1 home volleyball game this week.

Football

This past week was Homecoming.  Dustin and Rhett both had football games.  Bruce was doing the chains at Dustin's game so I got to hang out there with him.  It was fun to be on the sidelines and get to watch closer!!  He is #42 We beat Mayer pretty good this game!

Rhett's game was in Snowflake.  He was so excited to play his cousin Taylor.  He couldn't wait for this game.  Right before half time Snowflake was almost to score and Rhett tackled this huge guy that was running the ball so they didn't score.  The play was over and there was a hurt player from Mogollon down.  I started looking at numbers and I couldn't see #55.  I decided yep that was Rhett.  He wasn't getting up so I went out on the field and he had hurt his neck pretty good.  That big guy he tackled landed on top of him and hit his face mask.  They asked me if we wanted to call an ambulance.  I didn't have any experience with this sort of stuff.  They all asked him some questions and had him do a few things and they were pretty sure he didn't have a concussion and he could move things pretty good.  We got him up and walked him off the field.  He was out for the rest of the game with a hurt neck.  He was pretty bummed because this was their last game of the season.  He put his shoulder pads on just to take this picture with Taylor.  Dustin is at his last JV game right now in Cibecue.  He will still dress out with Varsity but be finished with JV.  It has been tons of fun watching my boys play this year!
