Al little blurry but a fab picture of Dustin!  He obviously likes to be silly and have fun too!

Another one

Well on Jan 10th my big boy Dustin turned 13 so we officially have 2 teenagers!

Dustin is a way fun boy to have around.  It has been fun having him in Jr. High and having him come home for lunch everyday.
He was way excited to get a new snow coat and some clothes for his b-day.
His biggest highlight for his birthday was he got contacts.  He has been asking for them for a while and I really wanted to wait until he was 14.  Dustin is a very very responsible boy and take great care of things so I knew he would take good care of them.  Besides that I was SO sick of broken glasses.  All it took was somebody to take him down and start wrestling him or getting hit in the face during PE and his glasses would be broken.  So when we were in Snowflake after Christmas I took him to the Eye Dr. to get his contacts.  He did really good getting them in for the first time.  I haven't ever been through that part if it with somebody so I was starting to get discouraged.  The eye lady told me he was doing way better then most people so I decided I needed to just be patient! Now he pops them in and out like it is nothing! As you can see he is so dang cute with no glasses!
He wanted breakfast burriots for breakfast so he is enjoying them.

I subbed the day of his birthday so I wasn't here for lunch.  For dinner he wanted to go to the Red Onion.  The waiter there was really good to him.  He blew up this balloon and gave to him.  The waiter was reliving his childhood when he turned 13 and had a lot of fun with Dustin.

His brithday was on Thursday so Friday night he had John, Noah, Jaylyn and Seth come here for pizza then went to Twila's to play pool and air hockey.  The boys had a blast and LOVED Twila's house!
I am so thankful to be Dustin's mom.  He is very particular about things and like everything to be just so.  If he had his own room it would be spotless and anybody that went in it and messed anything up would get yelled at by him.  We love you Dustin!!!

Kaylee came in one morning and told me her other front tooth was loose.  About 5 minutes later it just fell out.  So Kaylee is a cutie missing her 2 front teeth.  She is tons of fun!

Cy

Well after many nights of fried pickle parties and steak dinners we got Cy off on his mission (all most all ran by Cy).  I think this wasthe last big party before he left with us and the Maners.

He was making forever flowers for Tylinn and Kaylee that he made and put on their shelves.
Cy wanted fried pickles so Dustin and Jillie fried pickles all night it seemed like.  The did 4 jars of pickles.  They were quite the cooks.  Jillie dipped and Dustin fried.  We also had a lime drink he wanted so Jessica and I made that.
Cy will make a good missionary.  Better watch out Arkansas because he's comin'!
Here are some random pictures of a good Saturday we had.  Bridget, Kim and Kay painting nails.

Megan, Kaylee and Tylinn taking Nelson's kittens back home.  We gave them those 2 cute kittens and they like to roam the neighborhood and not stay home.  Thankfully they have only been to our house 1 time.
Rhett Man building a fire to burn some old wood scraps.
Bruce and Dustin working on the mule.
It had been really really cold and this was the first day that it was tolerable to go outside and do something.  I am DONE with the cold!

Tubing

I don't remember what day for sure it was but the Webers invited us and the cousins to go tubing with them.  It hadn't snowed for a few days but it the trail was on the north side of the hill so it was still covered with snow.  The kids had a blast.  Briget was still gone with Maners so she missed out!

New Years Day

We had a different New Years Day this year. Early that morning Bridget went with Maners to EAC for a couple of days.   Delton and Whitley drove over here to see if the boys could go with them to 10 mile canyon by Snowflake and play on the ice.  The boys were thrilled to get to go.  So that left just Tylinn and Kaylee.  We took them to Subway so they were content.  After that I took them out BB Gun shooting.

Bruce worked in the barn on the mule and that was our New Years Day 2013!

New Years Eve

I struggle with New Years Eve.  It is a holiday kids like to stay up late and party but there are lots of other Adult parties and things going on.  So it's hard to balance the kids with our things.  This year we stayed home with the kids for a while and played some games and watched a movie.

About 9:00 we dropped Bridget off at the Church.  This year they decided to bus the kids into Snowflake for the Stake dance there.  Bishop Nelson drove the bus and had good crew of kids on it.  The kids had a ton of fun.  I think this maybe what they do next year too.  Bridget all spiffed up ready to boogy!
Later that night Bruce and I went over to Daniel and Marci's house for a party.  We had a ton of fun there with the other couples that were there.  We rang in the New Year with fireworks and sparkling cider, played 1 more game and headed for home to bed.  2012 was a great year!

Snowflake

After Christmas we went to Snowflake to spend a few days.  Usually there is lots of family there but this year it was only Holli and I with our kids there.  It was pretty nasty cold weather.  We didn't did the kids to poke their heads out the door for a few min to play with this parachute the Schultz's got for Christmas.

There was lots of sitting around reading and playing on Kindles.
 Trevor and Layton
Kaylee snuggled up on the couch being lazy!
 Dustin, Tylinn and Kaitlyn
 Cayden, Rhett and Austin
Friday evening while we were there we took kids to the temple to do baptisms.  The adults in the family had a neat sealing session after that doing a bunch of family names.  Good time spent in the temple! The kids had fun with cousins.  It was nice to get away for a few days.

Christmas

With my blog out for a while I got mixed up on the posts a bit.  All the stuff between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day didn't happen over night :)  But hey at least they are getting blogged about!
We had a wonderful Chrismtas as usual.  Bruce and I were both raised milking cows (well for me my brothers did it).  So Christmas morning before we could open presents all the outside chorse had to be done, including milking the cow.  If it was a time we didn't have a cow we would still have to have everything else fed.  Christmas Eve we would get all the grain measured out just right and get everything so we could get out there and get it done as fast as possible.
Well we told our kids the same thing this year.  We told them they could get up at 5 and go out and do the chores.  It was cute to watch all of them except Kaylee tip toe through our room outside to get the chores done.

Dustin and Rhett straining the milk.
Kids all lined up ready to go.
 Tylinn sporting her new bike!
I made a blanket this year for each of the kids.  Well I guess not all of them.  I made 1 for Bridget a couple of years ago for her birthday so the other 4 kids got one for Christmas this year.

Bridget showing off her sloothes (shoes + slippers). She was so excited.
It was a cold yucky day.  We didn't hardly poke our nose out of the house but Tylinn did brave to go out riding her bike.
Grandma and Grandpa Flake came for a visit and ate lunch with us.
This year the excitement at the house was Kindles.  The oldest 3 got Kindles and the other 2 got DSi's.  It was a small easy Christmas and I loved it.  I'm pretty sure it made Santa's job a lot easier too.  I am thankful for my family I have to spend Christmas with.  I always love Christmas but the past few years have been extra special just because I have my little family to spend it with.  But most improtant is the Savior.  I am thankful for the time in December we get to reflect on him and his birth.

Goats

OK I know we are as about as wierd as they come.  Well now we have goats!  Bruce has thought for a long time that having goats would be a fun thing to have.  Not necessarily to milk, just have.  Well we have decided they are too expensive to have just to feed, that we need to be getting something from them if we were ever going to get them.  Well one day I mention to one of my friends in town with goats about that.  She said she was leaving town and wondered if Bruce would milk her goats while she was gone.
We both grew up with milk cows so when Bruce milked these goats and was done with 2 goats in 5 minutes he was pretty impressed.
Well next thing we know my friend said she wanted to get rid of her goats.  She was gone too much and things were changing in her life and she didn't want to mess with them.  She wondered if we wanted them.
So we are now goat owners.  It has been really good to have them, especially for the kids.  That was one of our biggest things when she asked if we wanted them is we knew it would be good for the kids. Bruce got everything ready in the barn for them so they have a happy home.  Now if we could just handle the taste of the milk!!  Bruce thought he liked it ok but not anymore.  Tylinn loves it.  Rhett will drink it.  The rest of us well not so much! I was just using it in baking and stuff.  We aren't milking them right now because they both are pregnant we think so it was time to dry them up.
