General Conference

We decided this would probably be the last time to take our whole family to General Conference so we better do it. Friday morning about 6 we headed out for Flagstaff to we could get Bridget and go to conference.

We stopped in Springville to see Bruce’s Aunt Genielle.

She is a sweet older lady.

Then we dove by the Provo Temple where dustin will be going someday.

And he wanted to see the MTC too!!

His was a pretty moon with the mountains taken from our motel room.

Hot tub time!!

I sure do love my family

We had to get our turn at the picture perfect spot with the temple!

 were in tears.

Just other pictures we took on Temple Square. We got there 2.5 hours early and decided to walk around for a little while so we weren’t sitting in the conference center so long. We knew we had tickets so we were fine. Hour and half early we got in line. The guy in charge of the lines said we were in the right spot just to stay there. They opened our doors 20 min late because they had to move some mechanical thing out. We finally got in the conference center and we knew were in the presence of a prophet and there was a peaceful feeling. We got to our section and they said it was full. We were heartbroken because we had tickets and were supposed to have a seat. There were lots of people that didn’t even get in the conference center. We were able to stay in there during the solemn assembly and got to sustain the prophet in there. After that we had to go sit in the foyer and listen to the rest. So we didn’t hear much of it. We were so sad and some in tears.

Kaylee decided since we couldn’t be in there with the prophets she would draw this on her iPod.

After the first session we waited because Bridgetbhadbsome friends there she wanted to see so we hung around outside for a while. After that we went back to our Holiday Inn in Orem and watched the second session. After the second session we went to Mitch and Tiffany’s house and the Naillon’s were all there and mother and dad and Madi and Taylor.  The boys all went to Mitch’s ward for a brisket pot luck and the girls stayed and ate take out Chinese and played games.

The boys came back for dessert and we visited some more. I really enjoyed being around family we don’t see very often.

We spent Saturday night at the motel and got up bright and early and headed for home. We listened to the morning session on the radio but we couldn’t find the afternoon session on the radio because we were between Flagstaff and Page.

There were some amazing things that happened this Conference- in the Priesthood session with they announced doing away with High Priests and Elders Quorums and only having an Elders Quorum. Also in Sunday afternoon session they announced doing away with Home and visiting teaching and it would be ministering. The church is true and the prophet receives revelation what needs to happen. And despite not getting into Conference it was still a great trip with family!
