Tylinn is finally 12!

On Wednesday was Tylinn's 12 birthday!  She has been waiting she thinks forever to turn 12 because she is the last of her friends.  The only Beehive in town was Megan to help me heart attack her so we got Kim and Kay to help.  They did great.......

 .........and Tylinn was surprised!

Time to start shaving the legs.  Bridget gave her a good lesson on how to shave.
On to presents.  She got a hair straightner, juggling balls, ear buds, and a balance necklace.  She was a happy girl! She has been watering for Bro. Crandell this summer and goes to work 7-9 everyday.  She even did it on her birthday with no complaints!  The one thing she didn't want to do was feed the pigs!
And of course she wanted to go to the temple so we took these friends and went.  There were a couple more girls she wanted to bring but they were out of town. Emma, Tylinn, Kamryn, Kenndi, Emmalee, and Megan

It just so happened to be Bridget's day off so she got to go with us.

We came home and had crepes for lunch and swam in the pool and played with squirt guns and water balloons.

I didn't get a picture of them outside.  They had tons of fun!

Caleb even came to sing happy birthday and eat a quick crepe on his lunch break.
The girls left and it was time for the birthday dinner with Mom and Dad.  She wanted to go to Wild Women's so we went there and it was way too packed for Wing Night we wen't to Red Onion.  She just wanted a BLT.  She got one there with onion rings and a free piece of cheese cake so she was pretty happy.  After dinner it was time for her 1st mutual.  We practiced for the skit and the cheer for camp.  I was tucking Tylinn in bed and she said it was a perfect day!  She is a sweet sweet girl and it blows my mind that she is 12.  She is way to little!  Sure love this girl!

They are gone!

Dustin got his braces off last Tuesday!  Happy happy day for him.  He only had them on for 1 year so it wasn't too bad.  He and Bruce got theirs on the same day and Bruce is jealous Dustin's are off.

Girl Summer Fun

These 2 girls have been having some fun together this summer.  They planted these flower seeds at activity days a while back in cups and decided they needed moved to a bigger pot.

They have practiced french braiding each other's hair.  They are getting pretty good at it.

I am so glad they have each other to play with!

Dropping Kids Off

Dropping my kids off for week long camps or EFY or anything is not my favorite thing to do - although I know it is good for them and me but it is very hard on this mamma.  We dropped Bridget off Sunday at the American Legion Girls State Camp in Tucson at U of A.  This was especially hard because we were dropping her off with not one person any of us knew.  She is an amazing girl with a great personality so I have no doubt in my mind she will do and learn great things there but it is still a hard thing.
It didn't help matters either that on the way down there our Mazda car starting having problems.  We learned the hard way when Uncle Kelly (who we bought the car from) told us that car didn't run good in the heat - it really doesn't!  We have had it for 2 years and forgot he had told us that.  We learned to not take the Mazda to the valley if it is going to be over 100 degrees.  That day was 116 degrees so it was a very warm day.  Thankfully we got Bridget dropped off in time and we made it home safe.  It took a little longer because we had to drive 60 mph to Tucson and all the way home but we made it!

Now Mr. Rhett Man got to go to EFY in Tempe this week.  He rode with Melanie U. there so I didn't do the actual dropping off.  I do think that is a little easier then me being the one to drop off.  He has waited for this day for a long time.  He has heard Bridget and Dustin talk about this for years and he couldn't wait his turn to go.  Jillie and Lauren went with him too but his roommate is a surprise - hope it's a good one!  There is just something about the church and church people that ease the mind - at least a mom's mind!

I will just be glad when everybody is home safe and sound at the end of the week.  Jill is bringing Rhett  home and I will go down and pick up Bridget on Saturday.

Six Stake Dance Festival

The boys were able to go to the dance festival last week in Showlow. It started on Thursday and ended Saturday.  They had fun but it was a lot of time out in the sun!  This was Dustins group.

Hmmmmm!

Well about these pictures and kids.  One of the first days of summer (guess it was Memorial Day) these kids all got together at the Andersen's side of their house in the rocks and had a sling shot paintball war.  They had tons of fun.  That night they wanted to play but decided they better do it at the school or somewhere so they didn't break an ankle.  They decided on Capps.  We knew right were Dustin and Rhett were and what was going on.  They come home and said they had a lot of fun. What we didn't think about was......the mess of paint balls.  Well the next morning Bruce gets a call from Superintendent Mr. Ron Tenney saying he got to school and it look like somebody vandalized the school and saw McLaws boys and Horn boys in the camera and they needed to get down there to clean up their mess.  The boys said they didn't realize it was so bad because in the dark it did look bad but they knew they needed to go check it out but Mr. Tenney beat them to it.  He asked Bruce what other kids were down there so he could call their parents too.  These were the victims.  Our boys actually weren't even home when he called - they were gone to the temple doing baptisms.  When they got home they all met there at 11 and got things cleaned up good.  After cleaning up they headed to DQ!

Rhett's 8th Grade Promotion

We have another kid in High School!  Rhett was promoted from the 8th grade.

These 2 are great friends and so much alike!  I love it!
These 2 boys will have lots of time together next year on the fields, courts, and weight room together.
Rhett and Tyra are great friends and have been since we moved here.
This is the group that hangs out together all the time.  Rhett and a bunch of girls.  Sometimes there is another boy or 2 but usually this is the group!

Brian made it to support Rhett.

Caden and Rhett - good buddies.
 Olivia and Bridget
Tylinn and Paige - big 7th graders!
These 3 have all been Valedictorians their 8th grade year.  Hopefully we can keep the tradition going.  Great kids!
Rhett was awarded the Brown and Ella Capps Award - which the staff picks.  It's pretty much a MVP award.  Great job Rhett Man - so proud of you!
